Catalog description

The aim of this course is to critically examine, using a sociological perspective, the concepts of health, illness, and medicine from a global viewpoint. The overall objective is for students to rethink their stances on health related issues, resist thinking of the dominant institutional arrangements as inevitable, and reinvent the institution of healthcare to reflect and embody social justice.
