CLASSICAL MECHANICS
Stockton University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
Newtonian mechanics at an intermediate level, aimed at enabling students to think about physical problems in mathematical terms and to solve such problems using available analytical and state-of-the-art computer-based techniques. Includes particle motion in one dimension; simple harmonic oscillator, damped and forced oscillations; motion in two and three dimensions, conservative forces and potential energy; motion under a central force; many particle systems; nonlinear systems; and Langrang's and Hamilton's Equations.
