INTRODUCTION TO ASIAN PHILOSOPHY

Catalog description

This course will provide a broad overview of Asian philosophies. The course will introduce the student to a wide range of important philosophical traditions. In the first half of the course we will focus on the development of South Asian religio-philosophical traditions from early Vedic religion to Buddhism. In the second half of the course, we will explore two major East Asian philosophical traditions: Confucianism and Daoism.
