General background information on the current structure of the federal and state court systems, jurisdictional issues, review and explanation of cases, statutes and rules, shepardizing, cite checking, bluebooking, and preparation of briefs and moving papers. The course also covers topics such as the code of ethics in the legal profession, disclosure status of paralegals, confidentiality and privilege, conflicts of interest, unauthorized practice of law, certification and licensing, and professional liability.<br>
