Catalog description

This course introduces students to the analysis of strengths and impairments in occupational performance of older adults. Students develop an understanding of aging, disease processes, and chronic illness impact participation in meaningful occupations and occupational performance in older adulthood. Application of clinical reasoning and occupational therapy theory will be used in the selection, administration, and interpretation of standardized and non-standardized assessments appropriate for use with the older adult population in a variety of practice settings, including acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, mental health, home, community, and long-term care facilities. Offered Spring only.
