Catalog description

Contemporary Professional Nurses must have a basic understanding of nursing history and its evolution as a profession; the struggles, victories and controversies that have embodied the nursing profession; and the challenges, issues and trends that currently affect and are affected by it. This seminar format course is a forum of intellectual exchange that provides students with the opportunity to critically think about and evaluate the Professional nurse in practice today. It will also assist students in structuringand/or modifying their professional practice to incorporate gender, race, social class and ethnicity as well as ethical decision making, political activism and professional problem solving into all aspects of professional nursing practice.
