Catalog description

Students will develop knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies in the provision of compassionate care for diverse populations across the four spheres of care. The course focuses on public health, emergency preparedness and disaster management, epidemiology, informatics, healthcare economics, and the social determinants of health. The Roy Model, the nursing process, critical thinking, clinical judgment, evidence-based practice, quality and safety, ethics, interprofessional collaboration, palliative and end of life care, are applied. The following concepts, forces,and stressors that affect population health are assessed, analyzed, and integrated throughout the course; these include health systems, health inequity, systemic bias/racism, environmental health, ethics, and advocacy NURS 4100 - 4 credits NURS 4105 - 2 credits
