Catalog description

Open only to 4-year BSN majors. Prerequisite: NURS 3100 and NURS 3105. Co-requisite: NURS 3305. Roy's Model provides the framework for understanding the adaptation processes of the childbearing and childrearing family. Students will apply principles of health promotion, disease prevention, health restoration, health maintenance, and end of life care when developing safe plans of care for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, pregnant women and other adult family members living in a culturally diverse society. Family members who are experiencing uncomplicated psychosocial and physiological adaptation demands will be the target population and recipients of care. The nursing process is fully implemented.
