Catalog description

Prerequisite: Open only to NURS-PREL Majors, NURS 1901.Corequisite: NURS 2905 This course introduces skills necessary for safe and comprehensive health assessment across the life span. History taking skills and systems assessments are presented. While the course focus is assessment, the diagnosis and planning processes are integrated. Health promotion and disease prevention principles complement the assessment, diagnosis and planning processes. Students will perform health assessments in the clinical laboratory and off-site clinical agencies using Roy's Model. The course provides a focus on the roles of advocate, educator, problem solver, care provider and collaborator.Faculty: Nursing Faculty
