Catalog description

Students will use the Roy Model as a framework to develop the beginning knowledge, skills, attitudes and competencies in performing a comprehensive health assessment. This course will focus on the data collection, problem identification, and planning phases of the nursing process across the four spheres of care. The practice of therapeutic communication, compassionate care, and respect for diversity will be emphasized. Students will begin to develop an understanding of healthcare informatics and its relationship to the electronic health records (EHR) for documentation and communication of findings. Open to Nursing majors only.
