Catalog description

(Cross-listed as EDUC 5353.) This course traces the literary history of texts dealing with individual and organized resistance during National Socialism. In the middle part of the semester, we will read early post-war literature by survivors. Finally, we will focus on contemporary texts that discuss the legacy of National Socialism in the context of national and individual identity and responsibility.
