ADVANCED SHAKESPEARE PROJECT

<Prerequisite: LITT 3205. Permission of Instructor required.This independent study project will examine four of Shakespeare's lesser known plays in an intense close-reading. We will place each of the plays in a variety of contexts-such as critical, historical, cultural-so that the plays can be understood in a Renaissance as well as modern context. Students will be assigned dramaturgical roles in the Spring production of <i>Measure for Measure</i>; this will be an ideal opportunity to move from text to script.Faculty: K. TOMPKINS
