AMERICAN MODERNISM

Catalog description

Prerequisite: LITT 2114 and LITT 2123. Open to juniors and seniors only. 1900-present Course American Literature Course and 20th-Century Contemporary Literature Course. The term "modern" is usually applied to literature written since the beginning of World War I (1914). In this class, we will read some of the great American modernists and their poetry, fiction and drama. Writers will include (but not necessarily be limited to) T.S. Eliot, Wallace Stevens, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Faulkner, and O'Neill. Faculty: Literature Faculty
