1900-present Course. This course examines the historical and stylistic roots of contemporary American poetry in Modernism, Harlem Renaissance, British Romanticism and American Renaissance.. Students will then read, analyze, discuss and write about a vibrant range of contemporary American poetry in terms of its forms and its significance in literature, society, politics, history, etc.
