Catalog description

This course equips doctoral leaders with the tools to navigate complex organizational challenges through ethical decision-making, robust program evaluation, and strategic planning. Students will explore foundational ethical theories-such as utilitarianism, deontology, and virtue ethics-and apply them to real-world leadership scenarios, including resource allocation and stakeholder conflicts. The course emphasizes practical evaluation methods, guiding students to design and critique assessment tools like surveys, rubrics, and performance metrics tailored to specific organizational contexts, such as education or healthcare. Through case studies drawn from recent organizational challenges, students will analyze the strengths and limitations of existing evaluation frameworks. Students will be also challenged to review and critique recent dissertations on Ethics, Evaluation, Assessment, and Planning.
