Prerequisite: LANG 3240 or equivalent.Permission of Instructor Required.This is a Distance Learning course. Mandatory Orientation. Film Criticism in Spanish is an ONLINE course designed to improve students' written and communicative Spanish skills through a series of readings about Spanish and Latin American film. While incorporating an extensive list of films to watch, the course focuses on critical analysis of film as artistic expression and the development of students' written proficiency in the target language. "Film Criticism in Spanish" examines cinematic works of both Spain and Latin America, while it integrates historical, sociological, political and aesthetic contexts, as well as the history of cinematography as an art form.
