INTERMEDIATE AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE II

Catalog description

This course counts toward the Disability Studies minor. This course is for students who seek more challenging linguistic exploration into American Sign Language. Students continue expanding their vocabulary, increasingly complex grammatical principles and intermediate-level discourse features in narratives and ASL presentations. Students will be prepared for more complex ASL conversations specifically through the study of cultural protocols in the Deaf community. ASL vocabulary will continue to be taught in context while students analyze multiplemeaning English words and ASL idioms.
