Prerequisite: Permission of Instructor required.Historical consciousness course (H).This project requires students to carry out independent research and write a thesis, involving use of primary sources and discussion of relevant historiography, at a level appropriate to a graduate seminar in history. Admission to the project requires submission and acceptance of a research prospectus showing significant historical work by the end of the fall semester preceding the course. Students may choose this course as a substitute for HIST 4691(Thesis Seminar) in fulfillment of their history major requirements.This course may be offered in sections with a W2 designation.Faculty: STAFF
