PUBLIC HISTORY: EXHIBITION ON SOUTH JERSEY HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS

Permission of Instructor required. Students in this seminar will work to create a permanent exhibition to be installed in the Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton that documents the history of the Holocaust through the biographies of Holocaust survivors who settled in southern New Jersey. In addition to an interactive digital exhibition, participants will design the graphic displays of the physical space. The seminar will provide a deeper understanding of the history of the Holocaust, the immigration of Jewish refugees to the United States, and the intersection between individual biographies, family history, and the history of the Twentieth Century. We will work with Holocaust survivors and their family members to make their stories accessible to a broad pubic through text and images.
