Historical Consciousness Course (H). Oral History has its roots in the ancient world, but since the 1940s it has been incorporated into a wide range of historical research topics. It has been applied to the fields such as the study of community and identity, of social change, and of the history of science and technology. This course will present oral history methods and an overview of the theory and practices. Students will develop a project framework and conduct interviews. May be repeated once for credit when topics vary.
