Prerequisite: Not open to freshmen.Historical consciousness course (H).This course will explore the European world from 1750-1815, a period of revolutionary change in both the social and political order. Topics include the American and French revolutions, development of anti-slavery and feminist arguments, emergence of the public sphere, the industrial revolution and its critics.This course may be offered in sections with a W2 designation.Faculty: L.
