This course covers the politics, society, and culture of Europe from the Renaissance and Reformation through the Enlightenment, French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. Topics include comparative political development of Britain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Germany; the development of European colonies; religion, art, culture, and science.
