Catalog description

This course uses the metaphor of travel as a love affair to explore the interactions between travelers and the people who host them during their journeys. Readings will include travel love stories, from fiction, travel writing, and the social sciences. Students will write literary essays narrating and reflecting on their own journeys into cross-cultural and host-guest interactions, whether at home or away.
