This class focuses on how prison affects the politics, broadly construed, of individuals who are or have been incarcerated or detained by the state. This class allows students to become more familiar with how the prison experience has shaped not only the personal lives and politics of the subjects studied, but also how those narratives and politics have shaped the trajectories of their countries.
