Catalog description

International/multicultural course (I).Technology has a major impact on the developing world. Results can range from an increase in the gap between the "haves" and the "have-nots" to empowerment of people and support for human development. This course will investigate technologies that most directly affect developing nations. Emphasis will be placed on information and communication technologies. The course will be discussion oriented with analysis of numerous case studies. A significant amount of Internet/web searching for information related to the topics will be necessary. Presentations and written papers will be required.Faculty: M. OLAN
