Catalog description

This course is intended as an introduction to the phenomenon of sexual orientation in humans, from a social science perspective. We will examine the origins of same-sex sexual behavior and sexual identity from different social sciences perspectives: anthropology, biology, history, psychology, and sociology. Further, we will study the construction of homosexuality across different societies and time periods and critically analyze the historical effect of these constructions on individuals who have adopted these identities.
