Catalog description
This course will look at college culture and social life in both historical and contemporary perspective. The goal is to develop a deeper understanding of the beliefs and values behind a liberal arts education, and to effect a successful transition into a new college environment. The course will be comprised of four parts: test and film discussion of college culture; cross-college fieldwork in Stockton to discover the significant culture/social focal points; in-depth fieldwork in one cultural/social area of the college; and an on-line blog/diary documenting the transfer experience.
