Catalog description

Students examine, discuss and debate controversial questions related to ethnic, cultural, gender, sexual, and racial diversity in the United States. Class discussions are framed by readings that represent clashing views on such contemporary issues as affirmative action, AIDS, poverty and welfare, hate crimes, immigration, same sex marriage, and others. Films, guest speakers, and the ongoing analysis of related current events will be an integral part of the course.Faculty: P. HOSSAY
