Catalog description

We will observe, study, and analyze the things that surround us in the mass media and other types of popular culture: pop icons, television, advertising, tabloid and mainstream periodicals, recorded music, music videos, etc. Because this is a Writing Intensive course, expect a series of essays of varying lengths and rhetorical modes; final grades depend on the quality of students' writing.
