Catalog description

The primary purpose of this course is to assist students in developing an understanding of statistical method and inference and its application to a variety of realistic situations. Previous background in statistics is helpful but not required. Students must be prepared to work independently to learn the course material at a rapid pace. Students who complete the course successfully should be equipped to make informed choices as consumers and citizens and should understand the importance of statistical reasoning in contemporary society.
