Catalog description

This course is a preparation for a 12-16 day field trip to Costa Rica or similar country to survey tropical bio-diversity, such as volcanoes, tropical rain forest, cloud forest, swift rivers, estuaries, mountain ranges, as well as Pacific Ocean and. or Caribbean Sea coastal regions. Emphasis will be on fresh water fishes. This is an introduction to neo-tropical biology. In addition to tuition and fees, students are responsible for the extra cost of the trip. Priority is given to persons who pre-register.Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
