This class will explore the complex relationship between humans and fire. This includes discussion of historical uses of fire as a force shaping the evolution of culture and natural landscapes. The class will also cover drivers and natural landscapes. The class will also cover drivers and consequences of contemporary trends in wildfire behavior and what this means for life in the anthropocene.
