GNM 2251
HONORS: DESIGNING GRAPHS, SEEING NUMBERS
Stockton University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
This is an Honors course open only to students in the Honors Program. Graphs are pictures we use to show relationships between numbers. If a picture can be worth a thousand words, so too a graph. We will learn how to decide whether a graph lives up to this standard by reviewing graphs from books, newspapers, magazines and the Web. With this experience in hand, we will create our own graphs using data from a variety of sources. We will learn how to produce graphs that communicate effectively and have a visual appeal through careful use of text, space and color. Graphing software is used extensively in this course.
