Catalog description

This course is a survey of applications, basic scientific concepts, the potential, and the challenges of biotechnology to address human needs and world issues. Students will develop scientific literacy, understand the science-society connection and explore complex implications of applied science, including ethical debates. This course integrates a COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) project, a global learning experience connecting students with peers in another country through virtual interaction.
