Catalog description

Prerequisite: One year of high school algebra.Explores exciting recent discoveries which have changed mankind's perception of the universe and challenged the imagination. Possible topics include anti-matter, lasers, relativity, black holes, pulsars and quasars, the expanding universe, intelligent life outside of earth, UFOs, etc. Discusses topics in general qualitative terms suitable for nonscience majors, yet the course should also be of interest to science majors interested in developments at the frontiers of science.
