Catalog description

Not open to students enrolled in BASK 1113 or BASK 1203.Navigation involves a wide range of scientific knowledge, from astronomy to the study of tides and currents. This course explores surface navigation as a science from its primitive beginnings up through today's sophisticated technologies. It includes such topics as dead reckoning, coastal piloting, celestial and electronic navigation, as well as considerable work with coastal charts.Faculty: L. SOWERS
