UNDERWATER SCIENCE AND EXPLORATION

Catalog description

This course will actively introduce students to underwater science and to the aquatic environment and will include marine biology, the physiology of humans underwater and technology for underwater exploration. The academic portion of SCUBA diving will be covered in the course and students will have the option to do a discovery pool dive (if medically able). Students who wish to be certified for scuba can arrange for the pool and open water scuba certification outside of class (not required) but will be responsible for fees involved with dive training.
