Catalog description

The nature and function of human movement in sports will be explored. The study of mechanics will be applied to the structure and function of the living human system. Students will develop the ability to recognize critical features of movement and sport skills using a qualitative approach in which a description or analysis of the activity performed in non-numerical terms. Balance and stability, bodies in motion, the biomechanical relationships of specific skeletal components and the application of biomechanics in sports training and equipment will be discussed.
