Not open to those with credit for BIOL 2110.This course is intended for nonscience majors and is designed to provide a general understanding of genes, heredity, and the science of genetics. Topics include: patterns of inheritance in a family pedigree, the structure and function of DNA, biotechnology, DNA fingerprinting, genetic testing, gene therapy, genetics of cancer, the Human Genome Project, eugenics, how genes affect behavior and sex determination.
