HONORS: WAYS OF KNOWING

Catalog description

Open only to students in the Honors Program.This course is intended to explore the ways in which scholars establish the validity of new knowledge. The scientific approach will be compared to other systems, and the empirical approach will be contrasted with other belief systems. The course will also explore the development of crucial ideas in modern science such as the theories of evolution, subatomic structure, relativity, plate tectonics, molecular biology, and cosmology. Because science is such an international activity, this course will include a global perspective.Faculty: R. OLSEN
