Open to juniors and seniors only.Values/ethics course (V).In this seminar we will explore the emergence of modern conservatism in the USA, including the Goldwater presidential campaign, the rise of neo-conservatism and the religious right, the Reagan Revolution, supply-side economics and monetarism, libertarian and traditionalist wings, anti-Communism, figures like Ayn Rand and William F. Buckley, Jr., media commentators such as Rush Limbaugh, and the two Bush administrations.Faculty: P. LYONS
