Catalog description

Prerequisite: GNM 2310 or GNM 1126 or equivalent and mastery of HS Geometry. The purpose of this course is to gain an understanding of humanity's current role in space by looking at the engineering, social, and ideological challenges that it presents. To accomplish this, the course will talk about the physics of space, the history of the space mission, our current engineering capabilities as they pertain to space, political and social influences on space programs, and scientific, ideological, and pragmatic world views for and against the space mission.
