Catalog description

This course uses methodologies from the behavioral sciences and the humanities to explore the experiences of the people of Latin America and the Caribbean. The various factors in the home countries that drive immigration are explored; conditions in the host country that attract immigrants and factors that influence the adjustment of new immigrants are examined. Students also explore the relationship between people and their environment in particular how both have been affected by patterns of immigration. A great deal of independent inquiry is expected and required.
