Catalog description

This course examines the scientific, social, political, and economic factors that shape the management of natural resources. Two general areas are addressed: land use and wildlife conservation. Multiple aspects of land management in the United States will be discussed including management of our national parks and public lands, mining, farming, and sprawl. In addition, concepts and topics in wildlife management and species conservation will be addressed, including biodiversity, endangered species, game management, and representative cases such as wolves, bears, and cougars.
