Catalog description

This course will consider the effectiveness of war crimes trials as punishment for and as prevention of genocide. We also shall review the Holocaust and what it teaches us about genocide. Against that background, we will explore what recent changes in international law, culture, and politics may mean for current war crimes trials, and the future of an international war crimes tribunal.
