SOCIAL ISSUES IN WORLD LITERATURE

Catalog description

The question of, "what constitutes a good society," is as old as philosophy and humankind. It is a timeless and perennial question that needs to be re-evaluated and freshly answered with the changing environment of world society. This course examines the alternative answers given to this question in various classical and modern works of world literature dealing with such social problems as poverty, inequality, repression, and war.
