HEALTHY URBAN AGING

Catalog description

This course examines key social, economic, and policy issues at the intersection of the changing demographics of aging, urbanization, and public health. It is designed to increase our knowledge of aging and urban public health in two areas: 1) the economic implications of psychosocial and physical dimensions of the aging process and of age-related changes in late life and 2) the policy implications of the interaction of the elderly with neighborhood environments and the health care system. How cities respond to the challenges of healthy urban aging will make a critical contribution to quality of life for all. Faculty: W. CABIN
