CIVIC LEARNING AND DEMOCRATIC ENGAGEMENT

Catalog description

This course offers students the opportunity to learn in a community, school, business, or other setting while providing volunteer service to the host organization. Students are required to provide hours of service in a community-college partnership and to keep a detailed, dated, reflective journal of their experiences, impressions and learning outcomes. Readings are assigned from journal articles. Students must submit a weekly reflection in which all students in service learning placements share their experiences.
