Catalog description
A study of Latin and Greek elements as a means of building English recognition vocabulary. Major emphasis will be on memorization of Latin and Greek roots, prefixes and suffixes used to form words in modern English. Additional topics include history of the English language, loan words and derivatives from other languages, shifts in the meaning of words over the course of time, and the origin of colorful idioms in English.Faculty: F.
