Catalog description

In this course leadership will be defined and distinguished from management and administration. Roles and expectations of leaders will be explored in general, as well as through distinct leadership theories. Additionally, leadership from the perspectives of an individual leader and team leadership will be examined through textbooks, current articles, films and self exploration. A personal leadership platform will be developed throughout the course based on personal understandings of power and leadership as they relate to vision, diversity, community, and collaboration. Values, culture and ethics of leaders will also be explored.
